From day one of setting up this project Eco Adventure Safaris Limited our aim we believed in giving something back to the local communities in destinations we take our clients, this is so important because local communities are the heart of conservation of the attractions that make up our business model, we do support the local communities through the charities and local community projects we support using part of our profits and sometimes with support from our clients. Education Support

Education is at the heart of our Community Support and this is the most important aspect of most of the local communities in Africa. We are proud to be associated with various local Charity projects which provides sustainable educational support for students in the destinations we operate in.

At each of our destinations, we responsibly engage with the local communities with the purpose of improving their well-being and uplifting them to benefit from tourism in that area. Children in Africa have an option to receive free primary education. But schools in this area are overcrowded and underequipped and children often have to walk many miles each day to access the education, across potentially dangerous bush land, in order to attend school. Despite these challenges they achieve great things and standards of achievement are high. We encourage our clients to always pack for a purpose for those who are able to bring items like school items, sanitary health equipment for girls, proper used clothes, play games among others which can be donated to schools in these communities.

1. Partnership by choice with suppliers who have adapted sustainable practices for example eco-friendly lodges and camps.
2. Development of community partnerships in socio-economic projects in the areas of health, education and conservation, we always happy to give back to the local communities.
3. Work with our clients to support the vulnerable and needy groups e.g. Self-help Women’s Groups, Children Orphanages, baby care homes, local community aided schools and projects among others.

1. Our customers are encouraged to be respectful of the environment and the communities in the destination they will visit. We also remind them about the conservation laws of a given destination we are booking for the client referring to the cultural goods, species of endangered wild fauna and flora, the protection of human rights of vulnerable communities and prevention of exploitation, sexual abuse and other forms of child abuse.
2. Our customers can voluntarily support our education charity drive that aims at educating the child.
3. We evaluate the quality of our service through satisfaction surveys and travel reports from the operations team based on daily follow-ups and comments from our clients.
4. We are committed to support the conservation efforts and development projects that help and promote sustainable development of the destinations we offer.
5. Our clients support local artisans and local producers in such way that the community is benefited.
6. We promote visits to natural national parks which generates revenue to support research and protection of fauna and flora including endangered and endemic species.
7. We promote eco-lodges and other type of sustainable accommodations most of them which are certified by Eco-Tourism certifications in that destination, some of them are run by the local community.
8. We monitor our destinations periodically based on their sustainability policy statements.

Our Internal Operations

1. We minimize our energy consumption by turning off lights, computers, fans and other equipment while we are not using them.
2. We recycle all the paper that we use in the office. Our printing machines are set by default to double-sided and we print only when is necessary. We do not print brochures at fairs and instead we give online material.
3. We promote a safe, healthy, pleasant and motivated work environment. We stimulate open communication and confidence in our work team.
4. We promote training and educational programs of our team that contributes to their professional development and impacts positively the company competitiveness.
5. We implement technologies tools when necessary to improve our productivity and competitiveness.

Minimum age to be to Volunteer in Africa?

All our Africa volunteer programs are open to people aged 15 and over. To join a project, all you need to do is check you meet the requirements and apply. We also offer volunteer programs in Africa for high school students aged 15-18. Our High School Specials are designed to give teenagers the support and care they need as young travelers which will help change lives of the local children at a given destination, we can arrange this for you during any period of time throughout the year.

For volunteering in Africa there is no maximum age limit. We believe you’re never too old to do volunteer work in Africa. We offer volunteer opportunities in Africa for college students, gap year, post-grads and adults. In fact, your experience and skills are much needed to support development in African countries.
