Kahuzi Biega National Park Congo was created in 1970 and the first Lowland Gorilla trekking was done in 1973, when it comes to Lowland gorilla trekking it ranks high, it was gazetted to conserve the Grauer’s gorilla species the world’s largest gorilla species.

DAY 01: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Bukavu Town in Congo

The driver will pick you up very early in the morning from the hotel or Airport in Kigali and he will brief you on the safari. You will then transfer to Bukavu town in Congo and the journey takes 6 hours to arrive to Buavu town where you will spend overnight. Dinner and overnight

Main Destination: Bukavu Town – Congo

Accommodation: Nediva lodge (Budget) or Orchirds Safari Club (Mid-range)

DAY 02: Eastern Lowland Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park – Congo

After your early morning breakfast, In the morning, you will head for the memorable adventure of trekking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Trekking lowland Gorillas is amazing, lowland Gorillas differ from the mountain gorillas, the lowland gorillas are bigger in size, usually takes 1-4 hours tracking the lowland Gorillas. The lowland Gorillas stay in bigger families as compared to mountain gorillas; you will not regret the safari effort once you meet the amazing Gorillas! Later in the afternoon drive back to your hotel.

DAY 03: Departure to Kigali to End the tour

After your breakfast, you will be driven back to Kigali for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Kigali on the last day of your tour. Since you will use the same route back, you will have another stop at the Rwanda-Congo border crossing for photo moments, buying souvenirs or to just relax before continuing to Kigali.
