What is the Best Time to Visit Rwanda
The best time to visit Rwanda largely depends on what you want to experience during your trip. Rwanda has a tropical highland climate, and its weather is relatively stable throughout the year, with two main seasons: the dry season and the rainy season.
- Dry Season (June to September and December to February): This is generally considered the best time to visit Rwanda. The weather is dry and sunny, making it ideal for gorilla trekking and other outdoor activities. The dry season offers clearer views, easier hiking conditions, and lower risk of malaria.
- Rainy Season (March to May and October to November): While the rainy season brings lush green landscapes and fewer tourists, it can also mean muddy trails and less predictable trekking conditions. However, this is a great time for birdwatching and enjoying Rwanda’s natural beauty in a quieter setting. Just be prepared for rain showers and potential travel disruptions.
