Gorilla Trekking in Uganda from Gatuna border
February 1, 2022Nkuringo Orphanage and Bright Future School is located in the Nkuringo region southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the school is an initiative in Uganda that houses and educates many children including orphans near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The school started off by educating just 10 children and now there are over 300. The school was formed by Arthur Kajubwami in 2005 because he became worried about the number of children who were being overworked, sleeping on the roads or being forced to leave home due to a family illness or tragedy.
Nkuringo Orphanage and Bright Future School were created to provide skills in the main curriculum as well as learning skills for employment such as tailoring, beekeeping, farming, animal care, and more. These skills can be vital for when they leave the school and this training is the only form in this area and the only way, they will have a life outside of farming.
How to help Nkuringo Orphanage and Bright Future School
Through Eco Adventure Safaris you can reach out your help to the Nkuirngo Orphans. The options below are just recommendations and one can support in a simple way he/she can manage, including offering a service just like one day at school teaching the children English and other language or skills. This always gives hope to the little ones especially the orphans at Nkuringo Orphanage and Bright Future School
Often when our clients travel with us, they will be shown around the school and see the wonderful work that Arthur has done, and when they return, they commonly ask how they can help the different initiatives around Bwindi. Most of them will donate money to fund desks for the children, or send them gifts including school supplies, sports equipment and even clothing.

One way someone can really help the Nkuringo Orphanage and Bright Future School is by sponsoring a child. Just a small sum of money can help change their life as due to the high number of children in need of Arthur’s help not all of them can attend the school due to the high price. Many of the children are orphans which in Uganda means that they either don’t have any parents, or only one parent. The school accommodates around 232 orphans and vulnerable children between the ages of 4 to 14, most of which are in need of sponsorship

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
Gorilla trekking is one of the highlights of any traveler visiting Uganda, Gorilla tracking refers to moving in the forest to see/view a given habituated mountain gorilla family. Gorilla trackers/advanced team/rangers use many signs and methods to trace these gorillas before gorilla trekking takes place, the trackers wakeup very early every morning and go to the forest in search for these mountain gorillas. They use natural means to track them like clapping, making wild sounds. Once they find them, then they will communicate to the park headquarters and it’s then the guides after briefing the visitors on dos and don’ts, they will start to walk and trek in the forest as they are directed by the trackers. This gives you 99% chances of seeing the gorillas in their natural environment in either Nkuringo, Buhoma, Rushaga or Ruhija gorilla regions. You can opt to do gorilla trek at the beginning on your safari or at the end and this depends on availability of permits.
