How safe is DR Congo right now. We truly understand as well about the foreign embassies advice against travel in these regions right now, these embassies are abit very unfair because they consider the whole country un safe even if the issue is only in one confined area of the country they really dont have enough information about what is happening in our countries. For example DR Congo the insecurity is only in Virunga National Park and Goma areas the other parts of DR Congo are all very safe. On this itinerary you will be visiting Kahuzi Biega National Park which is miles away from Virunga National Park and Goma these two places are separated by Lake Kivu which cannot be crossed by the rebels because this lake is protected by government soldiers and highly monitored by UN patrols so the rebels are only in Virunga National Park only this is the reason why is has been closed for the last more than 8 years.
