Best time to book Gorilla watching in Uganda and Rwanda

The best time to book Cheaper gorilla trekking packages in Uganda and Rwanda is during the low season months of October to November and April to May during this time permits and most of the services are discounted. Gorilla permit and what is included or excluded

A gorilla permit is a card issued by Uganda Wildlife Authority that allows you to go to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga National Park home to endangered mountain gorillas to have a chance of viewing them for one hour. Gorilla permits are only valid for the date booked and once expired cannot be used. Make sure that you are available on the day of trekking. This gorilla permit includes spending one hour with a given habituated mountain gorilla family. During this one hour, you will be allowed to take still photos as wells simple videos. Please read our dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas. You will also listen to an informative talk from your guide or the day. Included as well is services of a ranger guide and tourism police to ensure that security in the forest is guaranteed. The ranger from Uganda Wildlife Authority will be carrying a gun probably an AK47 to scare away any stray animal that may misbehave along the way. Park entry fees for Bwindi impenetrable National Park and or Mgahinga national park is also included in the pre-purchased gorilla permits and is valid for 24 hours.

Gorilla habituation permit and what is included or excluded.

Those interested in spending more hours with mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable National Park, we have you covered for this. Instead of booking the standard gorilla trekking permit that allows you to spend one hour, we advise you to consider booking gorilla habituation experience permit which will enable you to spend up to four hours with mountain gorillas still under habituation in Bwindi impenetrable National Park. At the moment, Uganda Wildlife Authority is having two gorilla families located in the southern parts of Bwindi impenetrable National Park reserved for gorilla habituation experience. Unconfirmed reports also indicate that another family is being habituated in the northern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to cater for the people staying in Buhoma and Ruhija regions of Bwindi forest.

In all the above situations, you will be awarded a certificate to confirm that at one time you visited Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking and also to support the rare mountain gorillas since part of your gorilla permit fee goes to the conservation of mountain gorillas as well as paying the staff of Uganda and Wildlife Authority. By trekking gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable National Park, you will also benefit the locals since part of the gorilla permit fee is channeled to projects that develop the community such as establishing schools, hospitals as well as creating jobs.
