Does Gorilla trekking take place every day in Kahuzi Biega?
Eco Adventure Safaris Is The Best Choice For East Africa Safaris. This is a Guest post written by one of our clients who had a great time traveling with us; below is the post for you to book your trip to East Africa with Eco Adventure Safaris;
“As a group, we had with Eco Adventure Safaris 14 days tailor-made tour to Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, and Uganda. Darjan from Croatia
We visited many interesting sites and places during our travel…
In Rwanda – Kigali, and Nyungwe NP…,
In Burundi – Gishora Royal drummers, Karera waterfalls, Source of the Nile, Tanganyika lake, capital Bujumbura…
In Congo – trekking lowland gorillas at Kahuzi Biega National park, Lwiro Chimpanzee sancturary, Bukawu town, Lake Kivu…
In Uganda: trekking mountain gorillas at Bwindi National park, ake Bunyonyi, Queen Elizabeth National park, caital Kampala, and Entebee town next to the Victoria Lake…
We have only words of praise for the agency, its director Patrick Atalyeba, drivers Patrick Kataama, Sam, and others. The trip was demanding to organize, and even more demanding to realize. Especially considering the fact that Burundi closed the borders to Rwanda just before our trip, so we had to travel in a roundabout way, via Tanzania and Congo.
First of all, I would like to praise the owner of the agency, Patrick, who patiently communicated with me months before the trip, answering each of the countless questions immediately on the same day, in order to organize our trip in the best possible way.
He was in contact with us throughout the trip.
He was always kind, quick and detailed in his responses, giving useful advice and his opinions on our suggestions’ but also listening our suggestions for our travel program.
Together with him, we chose our travel route and all the accommodations we were delighted with.
The accommodation during the whole trip was just amazing, beautiful and clean excellent lodges built in traditional style or top hotels in the cities, and the food we had included in the program (breakfast and dinner) was delicious and top notch.
We were lucky enough to meet him during our stay in Entebbe, where his agency is based, and to personally thank him for the entire trip, which went almost perfectly.
And what is very important to many travelers, the price of the program that we got from Patrick was significantly more favorable than a dozen other local agencies from Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi that we contacted for the same travel program.
All our drivers hired by the agency were extremely professional, led by the main driver-guide Patrick (other person than agency owner). He is an exceptional person, who knows very well all the destinations we visited, and who knows how to deal with challenging situations on the road, especially during the demanding trip to Burundi and Congo, which are not tourist destinations.
Also, he successfully coped with all the challenges when crossing “difficult” borders between African countries, where a lot of patience and calm is needed.
We have to admit that on our numerous travels all aound the world (cca 170 visited countries) we rarely had such an experienced driver and guide, for whom we have nothing but words of praise.
We had excellent 4×4 off-road vehicles for our entire trip, air-conditioned and spacious enough for travellers and baggage, even with a cooler to cool drinks during the trip.
The breakdown that occurred on one vehicle during the trip was quickly resolved and we continued the trip without delay, even on bad and very demanding roads.
In any case, we plan to travel to the countries of East Africa again with Patrick and his agency Eco Adventure Safaris Is The Best Choice For East Africa Safaris
Namely, in addition to the four countries that we visited, his agency also organizes trips to Kenya and Tanzania, and plans to expand its operations to other countries as well.
We highly recommend Eco Adventure Safaris for your trip to East Africa. We are sure that you will be delighted with both the destination and the agency.
Best Time to Visit East Africa for a Safari
The best time to visit East Africa for a safari largely depends on what you want to see and experience, as well as the specific countries you plan to visit. East Africa is known for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, and each season offers unique opportunities:
- Dry Season (June to October):
- This is typically considered the best time for safaris as wildlife is easier to spot since they gather around water sources.
- The weather is generally cooler and drier during these months, making it more comfortable for outdoor activities.
- June to August is particularly good for witnessing the Great Migration in the Serengeti (Tanzania) and Masai Mara (Kenya), as millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate in search of water and grazing.
- Wet Season (November to May):
- While the wet season is considered the low tourist season due to occasional heavy rains, it has its advantages.
- The landscape is lush and green, and many animals give birth during this time, leading to an abundance of baby animals.
- Birdwatching is excellent during the wet season, as migratory birds flock to the region.
- Prices for accommodation and tours are often lower during this period, and you’ll encounter fewer crowds.
- Shoulder Seasons (March to May, and November):
- These months fall between the dry and wet seasons and can offer a good compromise between weather and wildlife sightings.
- March to May is the long rains season, while November is the short rains season. These periods can be unpredictable in terms of rainfall, but wildlife viewing can still be rewarding.
Ultimately, the best time for your safari will depend on your preferences for weather, wildlife sightings, and budget. It’s a good idea to research the specific regions and parks you plan to visit, as weather patterns can vary within East Africa. Additionally, consider booking well in advance, especially if you plan to visit during the peak tourist season.
