1 Day Murchison Falls National Park Safari from AdjumaniDecember 6, 2023
This 9 Days Zambia Typical Safari is an exclusive private safari that brings you to Zambia’s top-rated safari destinations South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park. Below is the detailed itinerary;
Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport in Lusaka you will be welcomed by our experienced English-speaking driver Guide. Thereafter drive to Lower Zambezi National Park. Accommodation at Shayamoya lodge or similar on Dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 2-3: Day to explore activities that the Lower Zambezi National park offers. Accommodation at Shayamoya lodge or similar on Full board basis. The Lower Zambezi National Park lies on the north bank of the Zambezi River in southeastern Zambia. Until 1983 when the area was declared a national park, the area was the private game reserve of Zambia’s president. This has resulted in the park being protected from the ravages of mass tourism and remains one of the few pristine wilderness areas left in Africa. On the opposite bank is Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park. The two parks sit on the Zambezi flood plain ringed by mountains. The area is a world heritage site. In fashion with the current trend in Southern Africa, there is talk of linking the two parks to form a massive trans-frontier park. The park gently slopes from the Zambezi Escarpment down to the river, straddling two main woodland savannah ecoregions distinguished by the dominant types of tree, Miombo and Mopane: Southern Miombo woodlands on higher ground in the north, and Zambezian and Mopane woodlands on lower slopes in the south. At the edge of the river is floodplain habitat
Day 4: After early bird breakfast you will be driven to Kafue National park. Accommodation at Musungwa Safari lodge. On Dinner, bed and breakfast. The eccentric Kafue National Park is Zambia’s largest and oldest national park Spanning an area of 22400km. The park attained its national park status (formation) in the 1950s. A huge fraction of the national park remains uncharted thereby giving more access to the continuous development of the rich wildlife, plant and bird species. Kafue National Park also derives its attraction and uniqueness from its size and the wild game that is holds. All over the national park, the consistent Kafue River flows trailing a well-articulated course and its deviates and widens is areas where rocks seem harder and renders the flowing process impossible to go through them. the park has a wide array of activities that travelers can embark on, some of which include game drives, birding, canoeing, nature walks and fishing.
Day 5-6: This will be your day of leisure as you will go on a morning game drive and in the afternoon you will go on a canoeing. Accommodation at Musungwa Safari lodge on Full board basis.
Day 7: After breakfast in Kafue National Park you will proceed to Victoria Falls. Accommodation at Fawlty Towers/Jolly Boys Lodge or similar lodge on Dinner, bed and breakfast. Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. In more modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Columns of spray can be seen from miles away as, at the height of the rainy season, more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute plummet over the edge, over a width of nearly two kilometers, into a gorge over one hundred meters below
The wide, basalt cliff over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a placid river into a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. Facing the Falls is another sheer wall of basalt, rising to the same height, and capped by a mist-soaked rain forest. A path along the edge of the forest provides the visitor prepared to brave the tremendous spray, with an unparalleled series of views of the Falls.
Day 8-9: You will have a Morning drive to Mosi Oa Tunya National Park and in the afternoon will do a tour of the famous Victoria falls. Accommodation at Fawlty Towers/Jolly Boys Lodge on full board basis.
