November 16, 202312 Days Trip to Visit Tribes in South Sudan will start and end in Juba, it will take you to the northeast of Juba to TAREKEKA to explore one of the unique tribes of South Sudan called MUNDARI. These people are farmers, cattle herding and agriculturalists who live in small scattered villages. They follow a largely traditional lifestyle. They are unique and their young men and women are marked with a series of parallel “V-shaped scars on their foreheads. From there, we will explore parts of the tribe of DINKA, LARIM/BOYE TRIBE, the TOPPOSA TRIBE at KAPOETA and the remote JIYE TRIBE.

Day 1: ARRIVAL to JUBA CAPITAL OF SOUTH SUDAN
ARRIVAL- JUBA
Arrive in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. The guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore.

Day 2: JUBA – MAYONG- TERAKEKA -VISIT MUNDARI TRIBE
Drive through the city of Juba. Lunch in Juba and drive to the Mundari village settlements. The Mundari are nomads and settle in an area called Tarekeka and around Juba following availability of grazing lands.
Setup a camp few meters away from the Mundari campsite and mingle with the tribe when they return with their cattle usually around 5:00 pm.

Day 3: TERAKEKA -MUNDARI TRIBE CATTLE CAMPS -DINKA TRIBE
6:00 am wake up with the Mundari and visit the cattle camp and the villagers morning activities. The morning will grant visitors for a photo opportunity. Usually it is around 8:00 am the Mundari men depart from their camp with their cattle in search of grazing. We take breakfast and farewell to the Mundari tribe then drive back to Juba for lunch. PM we take the tarred road to Nimule (Uganda border) and turn left to the Dinka tribal settlement.
Arrive around 10:00 pm and setup our camp around Dinka settlement.
Spend the rest of the time mingling with the Dinka shepherds.

Day 4: DINKA SHEPHERDS – TORIT – LOTUKU MOUNTAINS-ILLEU VILLAGE
6:00 am visit the Dinka cattle camp and around 8:00 take breakfast and farewell to the Dinka continue to Torit for lunch.
After lunch drive to Illeu village. PM around 4:00 hike up to the Lotuku mountain for the visit to the village called Illeu. Hike down for
overnight under Lotuku mountains by the nearby school compound.

Day 5: LOTUKU MOUNTAINS- LARIM/BOYA TRIBE AT IMATONG HILLS
Drive (60 KMS)from Lotuku Mountain to Larim/ the Boya people via the road taking towards Kiddepo.
Pass through Lobira road and continue the drive to Larim via a village called camp 15.
Coffee, arrange permits with local officials at Camp 15 and drive to Imatong hills for overnight.
Picnic lunch on the way.
PM around 5:00 meet the Larim returning from their surroundings.

Day 6: IMATONG HILLS -CAMP 15-KAPOETA FOR TOPPOSA TRIBE
Wake up at 6:00 am and further visit the villages of the Larim/Boya tribe. Photo opportunity of morning village activities and continue driving to Kapoeta.
Checking to the local hotel in Kapoeta and around 5:30 pm drive to one of the near by village and visit the Topossa .
Drive back to the hotel for overnight

Day 7: DRIVE KAPOETA- KOTEEN FOR TOPPOSA TRIBE
Early morning drive to a place called Pariyang for the gold mining activity and the villages. Return back to Kapoeta for the daily market. Lunch in Kapoeta
And drive two hours to a Topposa village who settled around mountain koteene mountain. Meet the Toppsa returning from their nearby and mingle with them.
Camping by the village.

Day 8: KOTEEN VILLAGE -MOGOS
Drive Koteen mountains-Mogos Early morning visit village activities and drive 45 KMS to an other Toppsa village called Mogos. This village is a spring board to one of the remote tribes of South Sudan called Jiye.
Spend overnight in Mogos

Day 9: DRIVE MOGOS VILLAGE-JIYE TRIBE
Drive 45 KMS to the tribal land of the Jiye people.
Drive on one of the hardest road to the land of Jiye. The weather here is very hostile. Sometimes temperature rises to 45 degrees.
Here we spend our time with the Jiye.

Day 10: DRIVE FULL DAY BACK TO KAPOETA THE TOPPOSA LAND
Full day drive back to Kapoeta
Overnight in Kapoeta.
Day 11: FLY KAPOETA-JUBA
Morning we visit one of the Topposa village around Kapoeta.
PM we fly to Juba and do the covid taste.
Day 12: DEPARTURE BACK HOME
